Parade into the new gate

When I strolled near the old city, I heard boisterous sound and then I went to the direction where that sound came. I found lively parade there. People wearing a colorful uniform and holding a flag were marching into the New Gate.

I asked someones next to me but they didn't know what was the parade.... hmmm.

Drive Drive Drive

I practiced to drive a car today. It's the first time to drive a left hand car... I have to get used to it. I went to Talpiot and back to Jerusalem. Just an hour drive and a bit tired.

I am apt to drive at a right side on a lane because I take care of my side(driver's side) too much.

Test

Test from a mobile. Indian curry :)

falafel

I tried to eat Palestine style falafel last week. You need a huge bread, boiled egg, and huge falafels. You split this bread and put falafels in it. It tastes simple and good!

I went up Mt. Olive and saw a good view. The dome of the rock. Here is one of the best views in Jerusalem.

Calatrava

I found a big bridge in the west of Jerusalem when I walked around. It is designed by very famous Spanish architect Calatrava. It's for a tram or light rail transit. I heard someone criticize the bridge in terms with a landscape. Calatrava's bridge also provoke controversy in Venice a few years ago. Someone says modern style doesn't fit to an old city like Venice or Jerusalem.

I don't think so. I think such a new thing is needed in even an old city as Pompidou center in Paris was accepted by people after huge controversy.

Pasha's

I went to Pasha's restaurant in east Jerusalem. I found it on the travel page of the NY times.

I ate 'mansaf' which is a kind of Bedeouin food. It tastes very nice! Large lamb on a rice with a pine nuts and almonds.

get started

Early morning in Jerusalem city. I just look at the city from a balcony in a hotel. It seems summer has still come here. Not too hot. I am enjoying staying in the holly city.

This is a kind of blog or diary about staying in Israel.  I try to write it in English. I am afraid of continuing it but try.
